PC 3, Colgate 2: Three-point night from Florentino in Friar win

PROVIDENCE – The Providence College men’s hockey team got a game-winning goal from Erik Foley and three points from defenseman Anthony Florentino en route to a 3-2 win over Colgate on Saturday night at Schneider Arena.

With the win, the Friars even their record at 5-5-2, while the Raiders drop to 3-7-4 overall. Hayden Hawkey made 20 saves, including multiple sparking stops in the final minute as Colgate pressed for the equalizer. The Raiders’ Colton Point made 22 stops in the loss to fall to 0-1-1.

The Friars carried momentum throughout the opening 20 minutes, outshooting the Raiders by a 10-4 margin, but couldn’t get one past freshman Colton Point until late in the period.
