PROVIDENCE - Third-period goals by Josh Wilkins and Conor MacPhee lifted Providence College to a 3-1 upset of second-ranked Denver University on Saturday at Schneider Arena.
The win capped a strong weekend for the Friars (8-6-4) after a tie against the Pioneers (12-4-4) on Friday night.
"I really liked our push in the third period tonight against a good hockey team. It's a good win over a good team,'' said PC coach Nate Leaman
"These are the type of series you want to play, non-conference. This will help us in the second half because of the way (Denver plays).
