PROVIDENCE -- Josh Wilkins scored twice and Hayden Hawkey stopped 40 shots as Providence College came from behind to beat Merrimack, 2-1, before 2,196 fans at Schneider Arena on Friday night.
Ludvig Larsson of Merrimack (2-7-2) opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 5:47 of the first period.
Merrimack outshot PC in the period, 19-10, in the first. The Friars killed a five-minute major to Vimal Sukumaran for contact to the head, who received a game misconduct.
PC (7-4) tied the game on Wilkins’ power-play goal with 2:38 left in the second. Erik Foley and Brian Pinho assisted.
