NEWTON, Mass. – The Conte Curse is over.
It wasn’t easy and it took overtime, but the Providence College Friars found a way to snap a six-game losing skid at The Heights and beat Boston College Tuesday night, 100-95.
An exciting, back-and-forth college basketball game eventually came down to late-game free throw shooting. The Friars (7-2) made just enough at the end to squeeze by the Eagles (6-2).
A.J. Reeves led the Friars with 24 points, including a clutch 3-pointer that forced overtime. Nate Watson was huge inside with 19 points and 10 rebounds and Alpha Diallo, one of three Friars who fouled out, added 15 points.
