PC 1, Maine 0: Saracino wins in OT for #7 Friars

  • ORONO, Maine -- Senior winger Nick Saracino scored at 2:19 of overtime to give sixth-ranked Providence College a 1-0 victory over Maine at Alfond Arena on Friday night.
    Saracino's ninth goal of the season came on the Friars' 51st shot on Maine goalie Matt Morris (50 saves). Brian Pinho was credited with the only assist.
    PC's Nick Ellis stopped 19 shots for his third shutout of the season and the fourth of his career.
    The Friars outshot the Black Bears in the first period, 11-4; in the second period, 20-5; and in the third, 18-9.
