Ohio State holds off PC rush to win, 72-67, in Gavitt Games

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After being knocked to the ropes in the first half, the Providence Friars regrouped and made a run but didn’t have enough to pull an upset Thursday night at Ohio State.

The Buckeyes received 21 points, 7 assists and 8 rebounds from JaQuan Lyle to help hold off the Friars, 72-67, at Value City Arena. The Buckeyes (3-0) led by 10 points at the half but watched the advantage dwindle to one point midway through the second half.

Rodney Bullock (27 points) led the PC charge and the Friars trailed by just 63-61 with four minutes left.
