RALEIGH, N.C. – With their two stars buried by a flurry of fouls, the Providence Friars couldn’t add to March’s Miracles Saturday night at PNC Arena.
The Friars were ushered out of the NCAA Tournament by the deeper, aggressive Tar Heels of North Carolina, 85-66, but received a hearty assist with Ben Bentil fouling out with 7:23 left and Kris Dunn dealing with game-long foul issues. PC received the mandatory big efforts Dunn (29 points) and Bentil (19 points) but with both of the team’s stars handicapped with major foul woes, the Friars ran out of hope.
