BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Eighth-ranked Providence College scored twice in the third period to salvage a 2-2 tie against Vermont at the Gutterson Fieldhouse on Friday night.
Trailing 2-0, the Friars’ Kasper Bjorkqvist cut the deficit to one goal with a tally at 4:16 of the third period. Assists were credited to Erik Foley and Brian Pinho.
With Vermont’s Liam Coughlin in the box for boarding, PC tied the game on a power play goal by Scott Conway at 11:09 of the third, assisted by Brandon Duhaime and Vimal Sukumaran.
After a scoreless first period in which PC outshot Vermont, 16-4, the Catamounts’ Derek Lodermeier opened the scoring at 3:05 of the second period.
