The viewing experience at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center is about to make a major jump into the future.
Workers are busy installing a new video scoreboard at the 46-year-old arena in downtown Providence. The $700,000 project will be completed this month and introduce state-of-the-art video to fans of the Providence Bruins, Providence College Friars, ice shows and all other events at the facility.
“This is going to be the best looking screen anywhere,” said John Dunphy, the owner of Eastern Sign Tech. “It’s all about the screen resolution and nothing will compare to this.”
The board projects in four directions and includes curved surfaces that mirror the circular design of the arena.
