Just as the temperatures in Rhode Island became frigid, so did the Friars on this evening. An un-energetic first-half and a late game collapse led to PC’s first loss in over a month. Ben Bentil’s 22 second-half points went to waste as PC managed to give up a 7 point lead with 5:42 remaining and fall to Marquette 65-64.
Right from the get-go it was clear that this contest was going to be an ugly win at best for the Friars. By the completion of the first 20 minutes, Providence was just 1 of 10 from three-point land and faced a 6 point deficit heading into the locker room.
