PROVIDENCE -- Providence College goalie Hayden Hawkey has never been the kind of kid who beats up the crossbar with his stick if he allows a bad goal.
But beating himself up is another story. At times during his first season and a half as Providence College’s starter, you could tell by his body language when a goal bothered him.
That’s changed for the better down the stretch this season. The 23-year-old junior is in a good place, maybe even a great place. He’s on top of his game and his demeanor exudes quiet confidence.
“He doesn’t ride the rollercoaster,″ says PC assistant coach Kris Mayotte, who works with the Friar goalies.
