College hockey senior nights are emotional. The players and their parents are introduced on the ice, there are hugs all around, eyes get misty and the crowd applauds. Then the poignancy of the moment passes and it's game on.
So it went when Providence College hosted UMass on Feb. 25.
For Kyle McKenzie, the Friars' senior defenseman, the emotion of the night didn't subside with the drop of the puck.
After the game he tweeted a picture of himself and his father, Pierre, locked in a tight embrace on the ice at Schneider Arena.
