Mark Divver: Friars have question marks, but plenty of potential, too

Talk about setting the bar high. Providence College certainly has done that over the last three years under coach Nate Leaman.

The Friars won 27 games last season, 26 in 2014-15 -- including the national championship -- and 22 in ’13-14. They’ve reached the NCAA Tournament three straight years for the first time in school history.

Against that backdrop of success, what can be expected from a young PC team this season, which starts on Sunday with a 4:05 p.m. exhibition game at Schneider Arena (free admission) against Acadia University of Nova Scotia?

If everything breaks PC’s way, another 20-win season is not out of the question.
