With the regular season in the home stretch, both Providence College and Brown University have plenty on the line this weekend.
The Friars, ranked 10th and 11th in the national polls, are home on Saturday against No. 2 Massachusetts. The Bears are on the road against 17th-ranked Harvard on Friday and Dartmouth on Saturday.
Here’s where the teams stand:
PROVIDENCE COLLEGE
Get your popcorn ready. PC-UMass figures to be a doozy.
At 23-6, the Minutemen are the best surprise in college hockey in their third season under coach Greg Carvel. The 18-9-5 Friars, up and down for the last six weeks, have as much talent as any of coach Nate Leaman’s previous PC teams and are coming off a sweep of a good Lowell team.
