Luwane Pipkins to Providence: “Now I’m a Friar.”

PROVIDENCE – The off-season musical chairs game has begun in earnest for the Providence College Friars.

Coming off a disappointing 18-16 finish, Ed Cooley has struck quickly in re-working his roster for the 2019-20 season. On Sunday PC received a verbal commitment for their first graduate transfer as UMass star point guard Luwane Pipkins announced via Twitter that he was headed across the Mass Pike for his final season of eligibility.

Reach on Sunday, Pipkins said he felt an instant bond with Cooley and relished the chance to play right away with the Friars.

“Basically I felt a connection with Coach Cooley and his staff,” Pipkins said.
