PROVIDENCE – When you’ve witnessed close to perfection, any flaw hits you square between the eyes.
When Luwane Pipkins toes the free throw line, the Providence Friars are used to perfection. After all, the senior guard has missed one free throw in his 48 attempts this season. Asked if his backcourt mate even misses in practice, David Duke smiled and said “more than the games.”
That Pipkins is the Friars’ knockout player from the foul line is no surprise. He was a 76 percent foul shooter in his three seasons at the University of Massachusetts and owns the confidence of someone who never feels he’s going to miss.
