Just about four years ago to the day, Providence and Villanova played a classic. The Friars were ranked #16 in the country, Nova #4. Villanova would go on to win that national championship two months later, but on this Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia the Friars got the better of them.
Ben Bentil was a force, finishing with 31 points and 13 rebounds in an 82-76 overtime victory. Kris Dunn had 14 assists and four steals before fouling out, while Providence got huge lifts from Junior Lomomba (12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists) and Kyron Cartwright (all 13 of his points in the second half).
