SOUTH KINGSTOWN — The Rhode Island Rams entered Friday night’s annual college basketball passion play with a pretty lofty goal.
Own the State.
The motto was splattered on the Ryan Center billboard that sits out on Route 138. It was also emblazoned on a Keaney blue towel that greeted every one of the 8,052 fortunate fans with a ticket in the soldout building.
Own the State.
In order to achieve that goal, the Rams needed to buckle up and fight past a physical, talented but amazingly underachieving group of Providence College Friars. That’s the same group of Friars who’ve already lost to Northwestern, Penn, Long Beach State and the College of Charleston.
