Jim Donaldson: Promising season ahead for local college lacrosse teams

It looks like it’s going to be a very good lacrosse season for the local college teams.

Went to see perennial Northeast Conference power Bryant take on Providence College Saturday afternoon at the Friars’ dazzling, brand-new Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.

While the Bulldogs, as expected, proved to be the better team, the Friars are improving quickly thanks to an influx of young talent.

Finally operating with a full complement of scholarships for the first time in program history, PC has more firepower than it has had in the past and displayed it early, jumping out to a 6-1 lead over Bryant early in the second quarter.
