Jim Donaldson: PC coach knows just how good Brown lacrosse squad is

Providence College lacrosse coach Chris Gabrielli knows only too well how many problems the Brown Bears can cause for opposing teams.

He saw firsthand when Brown came to Anderson Stadium and beat the Friars, 16-10, in April. Then he saw again on Saturday, when, acting as the NCAA’s representative at the game, he watched the Bears overwhelm Johns Hopkins, 17-8, in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

“They have no weaknesses,” Gabrielli said. “None.

“They are dynamic on offense. They faceoff really well. And what I think is overlooked sometimes is that Jack Kelly is a first-team, All-American goalie who makes tremendous saves.
