How Creighton Rebuilt into a Power

The Jays opened the season 3-0 with a convincing win over #9 Wisconsin followed by a 103 point explosion at the hands of Washington St.

NC State has a lot of firepower, led by freshman point guard Dennis Smith Jr., a likely top-five pick come June (earlier this week Smith had a 27/11/11 triple double in a 26 point drubbing of Virginia Tech). It’s not that the Wolfpack played poorly against Creighton; they simply couldn’t keep up.

Seven Bluejays scored in double figures, led by Cole Huff’s 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 112-94 victory.

I knew then that Creighton wasn’t just the most exciting team in the Big East, but the country.
