PROVIDENCE — The memories are always fast-breaking through Ernie DiGregorio’s mind.
The Providence College legend will be remembered for christening the gleaming, new downtown Civic Center back in the 1973 Final Four season, but he quickly points out that the majority of his collegiate career unfolded on campus at Alumni Hall.
“I remember the first time I saw a game there and the fans would chant ‘Walk, Walk, Walk’ for Jimmy Walker,” DiGregorio said. “It was magical. It left an impression on me. I wanted to play for Providence College and I wanted to play at Alumni Hall.
