PROVIDENCE – There’s no other way to slice it.
The Providence Friars can’t shoot, and their season is quickly slipping away.
Facing a Georgetown team that came into town last in the Big East in defense, the Friars shot a woeful 37 percent, hit just 4-of-2 from the 3-point line and lost going away, 76-67.
Providence has lost three straight for the second time and falls to 13-10 on the season and just 3-7 in the conference. In more bad news the schedule brings road trips to St. John’s and Villanova next.
The Friars did a decent job on defense most of the way but simply could never mount a serious offensive charge.
