BROOKLYN, N.Y. — As things grew uglier by the minute late in the second half Tuesday night at the Barclays Center, a disgruntled fan yelled out towards the Providence College bench.
“Hey Ed,” the fan bellowed. “This is embarrassing.”
Providence College coach Ed Cooley stared straight ahead, watching his team get run over by the Florida Gators. Then he shot the fan a look, nodded his head and said to no one in particular, “yeah, it is.”
That about summed up what was a long, painful 83-51 defeat in the Air Force Reserve Hall of Fame Invitational.
