PROVIDENCE — For a team heavy with veterans, the Providence Friars fell victim to a youthful mistake in their last exhibition game.
Don’t expect a repeat anytime soon.
A week ago, the Friars came out slow and coach Ed Cooley shuffled through his lineup like a nervous dealer at Twin River. Before long, the Carleton Ravens had grabbed control of the game and never let go in a 77-67 win over the Friars.
“They were a good team,” said senior point guard Kyron Cartwright. “Some people came in disrespecting them and that was kind of the mindset we had going into the game and it showed, obviously.
