PROVIDENCE — After a frustrating three-game start to the Big East season, the last thing Ed Cooley needs to see are the two high-scoring guards his Providence College team is preparing for this week.
The first test will occur Tuesday night when Seton Hall and Myles Powell visit the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. On Saturday, the Friars will visit Marquette and its explosive guard, Markus Howard.
Throw in St. John’s guard, Shamorie Ponds, and the Big East doesn’t have to look very far to find its star power. All three guards are among the best scorers in the country, the type of talents who can explode on any night.
