CHICAGO – Before Nate Watson went to the foul line with a chance to salt away a Big East road win, Ed Cooley deployed a little positive reinforcement.
With one second on the clock in a 65-65 game, Cooley simply told Watson where to go on defense “after you make the second one.”
Sure enough, Watson missed the first free throw and then made the second, giving Providence College a 66-65 victory. PC is now 2-0 in the Big East and heading to Marquette Tuesday night.
“That was the most pressure I ever felt.
