While two wins and a championship are the ultimate goals for the Providence Friars at the Emerald Coast Classic this weekend, Ed Cooley is hoping his team finds something else on its trip to the Florida panhandle.
Cooley says for the first time in his six years at PC he’s coaching a team without a true identity. More troubling is the group hasn’t identified a leader, and may not have a born Alpha Dog on scholarship.
“We have good kids, really good kids. And they’re hard workers,” Cooley said. “But I talk to our veteran guys all the time about having a voice in the locker room.
