RALEIGH, N.C. – He knew this day was coming but that didn’t make it any easier for Ed Cooley to say goodbye to Kris Dunn.
As Dunn left the PNC Arena floor with 50 seconds on the clock and his Providence Friars down by 19 points, fans in every corner of the building paid homage. He reciprocated, waving towards the PC faithful that filled sections of the stands directly across from the Friars’ bench.
After the North Carolina Tar Heels had finished celebrating their 85-66 victory and a trip to the Sweet Sixteen, Cooley and Dunn both talked about the ending of a fabulous career.
