Considering the time of the year and lack of some key veterans, that’s the early review out of Wednesday night’s easy 90-76 exhibition game win over the Connecticut Huskies. The Friars never trailed, led by nine at the half, by 20 a few minutes into the second half and coasted the rest of the way.
The game was played at Mohegan Sun Arena as a benefit to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The Friars will return to Mohegan Dec. 20 to face the Houston Cougars. UConn has never played at Mohegan.
