Providence College boosters joined men’s basketball coach Ed Cooley and his team Saturday night for the annual awards banquet at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
Seniors Kyron Carwright and Rodney Bullock shared the Jimmy Walker Most Valuable Player award for the second consecutive season. Fellow senior Jalen Lindsey earned Marvin Barnes Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Other award winners included junior Isaiah Jackson gaining the John Zannini Coaches Award; sophomore Alpha Diallo winning the Ryan Gomes Most Improved Player award; freshmen Nate Watson and Makai Ashton-Langford sharing the Coca-Cola Most Promising Prospects; Kalif Young earning the Lenny Wilkens Hustle Award; and senior forward Tom Planek won the Thomas Ramos Academic Award after posting the team’s highest grade-point average.
