Friars miss out on top All-Big East honors

The Big East announced its All-League honors Sunday and with little mention of the Providence Friars.

Senior Kyron Carwright was named honorable mention and freshman Nate Watson picked up All-Rookie mention. The 11 players named to the All-Conference teams include first team picks Trevon Bluiett of Xavier, Jalen Brunson of Villanova, Kelan Martin of Butler, Marcus Foster of Creighton, Shamorie Ponds of St. John’s and Mikal Bridges of Villanova. Bluiett is only the 13th player in Big East history to earn first-team honors three times.

The second team is led by Seton Hall’s Angel Delgado and Desi Ridriguez, Creighton’s Khyri Thomas, Marquette’s Markus Howard and Georgetown’s Marcus Derrickson.
