WASHINGTON , D.C. – Several players wearing black and white uniforms this afternoon at Capital One Arena have never beaten the Georgetown Hoyas before. They hope to join in on the fun.
The Providence College Friars will carry an eight-game, four-season winning streak into the Big East clash but they’ll need key efforts from some youngsters who didn’t help build that streak. The Friars start freshmen David Duke and Jimmy Nichols and a few other veterans who didn’t see much time in wins over the Hoyas the last few seasons need to come up big.
“I’m pretty sure that they’ll talk about that because I would if I was coaching that team,” said PC coach Ed Cooley.
