Friars looking for offensive spark in rematch at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS – The last time the Providence College faced off against the Butler Bulldogs, Friar fans weren’t sure if they’d ever get a chance to sit down.

The Friars began the game at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center with a painfully long scoreless streak that left the home fans standing waiting for some points and allowed Butler to race to a 9-0 lead. When Maliek White knocked in a jumper with 13:26 to play, the Friars were finally on the scoreboard but the remnants of a 0-for-13 start against the stout defense of the then sixth-ranked Bulldogs never really waned.
