INDIANAPOLIS — The last time Providence College faced off against the Butler Bulldogs, Friar fans weren’t sure if they’d ever get a chance to sit down.
The Friars began the Jan. 10 game at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center with a painfully long scoreless streak that left the home fans standing waiting for some points as Butler raced out to a 9-0 lead. When Maliek White knocked in a jumper with 13:26 to play, the Friars were finally on the scoreboard. But the remnants of a 0-for-13 start against the stout defense of the then sixth-ranked Bulldogs never really waned.
