FRIARS JOURNAL: Season sweep of Georgetown key for the Friars

WASHINGTON, D.C. – No one can predict just what the secret formula will be to earn an at-large berth into this year’s NCAA Tournament but it is clear that the Friars took a giant step forward on Saturday.

PC won its ninth Big East game with a 74-69 win at Georgetown. The victory assures at least a 9-9 Big East record with games remaining at No. 4 Xavier and at home with St. John’s next Saturday. The Friars (18-12) own a lot of the ingredients the NCAA’s selection committee is looking for but nine or 10 Big East wins appear vital.
