Friars Journal: Players take exams, ace test on court

PROVIDENCE - It was a welcome shift in focus back to the court for Providence College's players on Saturday.

First-semester final exams took up most of the Friars' time in the days between last Saturday's win over Massachusetts and this Saturday's 76-54 blowout of Wagner. For freshmen like forward Kalif Young, it was a new experience in his college career as a student-athlete.

"You're here to balance basketball and school," Young said. "It was OK. I think it was difficult at times for sure - not a lot of sleep, you've got a test in the morning, you've got practice at night - but it's what you're here to do.
