Friars Journal: PC’s Emmitt Holt ruled out for this season

PROVIDENCE — Emmitt Holt is officially shelved for this season.

The Providence College senior forward will use this season as an injury redshirt, the school confirmed in a release Wednesday. Holt has taken a personal leave of absence from school this semester but hopes to return to campus in January.

Friar coach Ed Cooley has said that Holt is recovering from abdominal surgery at his home in Rochester, N.Y. He has not been on campus since September.

“Emmitt is one of our team’s most consistent and experienced players, but more importantly, he is an outstanding person,” Cooley said in a release.
