PHILADELPHIA - When Ed Cooley and his staff were drawing up a game plan for Saturday's matchup with top-ranked Villanova, slowing down an explosive offense was at the top of the list.
The Friars needed to limit the Wildcats' 3-point shooting and slow a team that came in shooting 50 percent from the floor in Big East contests. After a 78-68 loss on Saturday, Cooley saw enough to take away both positives and negatives into a rematch at The Dunk on Feb. 1.
Villanova finished 7-for-17 from the 3-point line, a result Cooley was happy with and one that 'Nova coach Jay Wright seemed to expect.
