Friars Journal: Lingering injuries slow Cartwright, Diallo | VIDEO

UNCASVILLE, Conn. — In a mild surprise, both Kyron Cartwright and Alpha Diallo tried to play Wednesday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Neither was ready.

Cartwright, who rolled his ankle in last Sunday’s win over Stony Brook, came in midway through the first half and played four minutes, but he lacked his trademark quickness. He returned as the roof began to fall in during the second half of a 70-59 loss to Houston but was a defensive liability. He finished the night with two assists and took no shots in six minutes.

Diallo entered the game at the 10:39 mark and saw five minutes in the first half but lacked his first step.
