PROVIDENCE — As the Friars leave their locker room before every game the players always jog past a chair with a jersey draped over it.
Everyone sees that No. 15 uniform, thinks of Emmitt Holt and presses on. Holt has missed the entire season after undergoing abdominal surgery in October. He’s recovered at his home in Rochester, N.Y., but returned to campus before Monday’s game against Butler. His teammates say just his presence will help them the remainder of the season.
“It fills a void in our heart,” said senior guard Kyron Cartwright.
