PROVIDENCE - Ed Cooley knows that if his team is going to scratch out Big East victories, he's going to need help from his freshman class. He received that shot in the arm in Wednesday night's win over Georgetown.
Big man Kalif Young continued his valuable play inside with five rebounds in 12 minutes but this time it was Alpha Diallo who provided the biggest lift. Diallo played the final 13 minutes of the second half and helped the Friars hold off the Hoyas, 76-70. He finished with seven points, four rebounds and two assists, just the type of all-around game that Cooley believes Diallo can provide.
