Friars Journal: Cooley hoping home lightens the load

PROVIDENCE - Ed Cooley says he can only hope that a schedule maker who wasn't kind to him to begin the Big East season will be nice to the Friars down the season's home stretch.

Providence began conference play with road games at two Top 25 teams, Xavier and Butler. It's second home game of the season came against No. 10 Creighton. Half of PC's first eight league games came against nationally ranked teams.

"We've had the toughest schedule. It's been hard," Cooley said.

Starting with Wednesday's game against St. John's, the Big East schedule eases up ever so slightly.
