Friars Journal: Change in strategy proves effective

PROVIDENCE - Heavy minutes for its starting five could be the new order for Providence going forward.

The return of Jalen Lindsey (left wrist/thumb) after a one-game absence and the improved health of Kyron Cartwright (right knee) led to Friars coach Ed Cooley shortening his bench in Saturday's 65-61 win over Seton Hall. Four members of Providence's first five played more than 30 minutes each while Lindsey checked in at 29 after picking up two personal fouls in the first half.

"It was a gut feeling to stick with a smaller rotation in the second half," Cooley said.
