PROVIDENCE — One team showed up with a chip on its shoulder. The other barely checked in.

The result was an overtime thriller at The Dunk where Providence College digged deep into its bag of tricks to hold off Brown, 77-72.

The Bears were 20-point underdogs but didn’t play like it. They jumped on the Friars early, led 40-28 at halftime and had their chances to pull the upset.

“Coming into the game no one gave us much of a chance and that made us come together as a team,” said Brown freshman Desmond Cambridge, who scored 19 points.
