PROVIDENCE — Ed Cooley's job is only getting tougher in this unfortunate, surprising season of discontent.
As the Providence Friars walked off the floor at St. John's Carnesecca Arena on Wednesday, the player's droopy faces told the story. The Friars had just played at the Red Storm's preferred frantic pace and measured up like the local St. Agnes CYO team, fumbling and bumbling their way to 24 turnovers in an 80-69 loss. The 24 flubs were the most in Cooley's nine seasons, dating back to a 23-turnover mess in a home loss to DePaul in 2013.
