PROVIDENCE – It’s only been two games and one day but the consensus refrain on the prognosis in the Big East this season certainly owns some legs.
Unlike previous seasons where Villanova entered conference play ranked in the top five or 10 in the polls, there is no national power from the Big East this season. That may change over the next eight weeks but the more likely look around the league is a 10-team battle royale where competitive balance and tight finishes are the norm.
In the conference’s first two games, Xavier came from behind to win at DePaul in the final minute.
