Friars hoping better health leads to better play vs. Villanova

PROVIDENCE – Ed Cooley paused a bit when asked to reconsider a decision he battled with ahead of last Saturday’s ugly home loss to DePaul.

Already down Jalen Lindsey (mild concussion), Cooley looked at fellow starters Kyron Cartwright and Rodney Bullock and decided to roll the dice. Instead of snake eyes, the move turned up craps for the Friars.

“If I could do it again I probably wouldn’t have tried to play them,” Cooley said. “I give them a lot of credit for trying. We just didn’t have it. If I could do it again I probably would have sat them out.
