A win is a win is a win.

That’s a mantra that coaches far and wide in all sports view as creed and one that Ed Cooley certainly subscribes to this morning.

Cooley’s Providence Friars struggled on offense for the majority of the game and still found a way to beat the Memphis Tigers, 60-51, in a semifinal game at the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla. PC will take on No. 7 Virginia for the championship tonight at 7 p.m.

The Friars (4-1) won despite shooting 40 percent (22-of-55) from the field and 2-for-20 from the 3-point line.
