NEW YORK - Now comes the hard part.

Ed Cooley and his Providence Friars feel they've done enough to merit an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament. So do a litany of so-called experts who track things like quality wins, RPI, adjusted statistical metrics and other measuring sticks.

But what some bracketologist feels doesn't carry much weight with Cooley. He knows the only people that matter are the 10 selection committee members meeting all weekend at the Marriott Marquis hotel in Manhattan.

"In tournament play you can't play poorly and expect to win," Cooley said.
